As part of AMI's commitment to educating patients and consumers, we have reviewed a number of online resources that you may find helpful.

The list below is not meant to be all-inclusive or replace information provided by your personal physician. Rather, it is meant as a starting point for gathering information before you make a decision about procedures or tests. An AMI physician has reviewed each site on this list.

Although there are many sites which contain excellent health information, not all sites do. Here are some tips for making sure you read reputable clinical information.
1. Ask your physician to provide a list of the health and medical sites he or she recommends. Your physician's recommendation typically means the clinical information is accurate and up-to-date.
2. Determine if the site follows the principles outlined by the Health on the Net Foundation. You'll find these at: www.hon.ch/
3. Consider the source. Reputable healthcare institutions -- such as Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins University -- will likely only publish scientifically proven, physician-reviewed material on their sites. Make sure the sponsoring organization is recongnizable and/or credible in the medical community.
